Wait, what, you work in the Insurance industry?

When people meet me and ask me what I do for work. I’m always quite excited to say that I work within the Insurance Industry. It takes them by surprise, some of the main comments I receive back are….

▪️ “That sounds fun” Sarcastically
▪️ “Can you get me a cheap deal”
▪️ “What made you get into that”
▪️ “Why do Insurance companies set out to just rip me off”

And many more…… but not at any point did I mention I sold Insurance, just that I worked within the industry.

Why are people surprised?

It is that Insurance still holds that stereotypical vibe in the minds of outsiders to this industry.

Did you not expect me to have a full sleeve of tattoos? Or have a love for Classic and Hot Rod Cars as much as I do for Insurance and Technology. Why not, I am human after all.
